AGS Student Learning Portal

The Arizona Guitar School was founded by long-time musician & songwriter Chayton Alo to offer an affordable opportunity for Phoenix Valley residents to learn how to play guitar in a professional and supportive environment in historic Downtown. Our learning approach is innovative and immersive, and includes vocal coaching and song covers. And, we will gently explore the basics of music theory and songwriting. All of the students of Arizona Guitar School have full-access to our Student Portal, which provides a vast array of features and learning resources. Once you enroll, you will receive an email to invite you to login to your exclusive learning portal. From a practical standpoint, you can handle all scheduling online (even from your smartphone) including booking and rescheduling and payments. You will be able to log your practice time and upload samples for review and/or make notes. And, you will have access to a vast library of learning resources and songsheets. You will be able to review lesson material and submit any at-home assignments or practice recordings to your instructor. And, your access to our Student Portal will remain active even after you have completed a lesson curriculum, to support your ongoing musical growth and allow for simple online booking of a renewed lesson package.

Every new student will receive an email invitation with a unique login to their portal within 24 hours of enrolling at our school. Your portal will be fully active and customized to your skill level and learning goals.

The AGS guitar studio is located in the Portland/Roosevelt historic district of Downtown Phoenix. Our daily lesson hours are from 9am through 9pm. Lessons can be held at the student's home and/or work although the optimal location is at our studio. Virtual lessons can also be arranged.

Chayton Alo founded Arizona Guitar School to bring guitar playing and the joy of singing to the Phoenix Valley for kids of all ages. Over the last three decades, Chayton has played, taught, and performed guitar from the Middle East to the Colorado Rockies. He covers over 1,000 songs on acoustic guitar from Motown to Metal with a bluesy vibe. Chayton has performed at The Arizona Center in Phoenix as well as local eateries & events. Mr. Alo is also training to build acoustic guitars by hand. Chayton's passion is to coach students of all ages into a love for musical expression and an understanding of the guitar.

We will present you with your Lesson Options and synchronize your desired learning schedule with our available lessons slots. We accept payment online through either Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle (or cash). We maintain a "No Cancellation" policy but lessons can be re-scheduled with 24-hour notice.

The AGS Student Portal is your gateway to your new musical journey at AGS. You can easily book a lesson or a lesson package online, even from your smartphone, as well as make payments and generate invoices. And, you can set either mail or text notifications for your upcoming lessons. You will be able to log all your practice sessions with a timer and even upload recordings or notes for review by your instructor. And, you will have access to a wide array of learning materials, exercises and 100s of song covers sheets. There will be infographics and musical learning resources to keep your growing for years to come.

No problem! No more texting back and forth - you can book or reschedule your music lessons through the portal. The portal will automatically provide your with open lesson time slots and invoice your account at the school learning rate. You will also receive text and/or email notifications regarding upcoming lessons or balance due. And all of this can be done from your smartphone!

Practicing new skill sets between lessons is critical to reaching your musical goals. Now with the AGS Student Portal, you can log your practice minutes as well as enter notes for teacher review. You can even upload any files or recordings into your practice session. Your total practice time will be displayed in your portal dashboard. Practice does not make perfect but it makes progress! And just 20 minute a day will add up to 10 hours of musical growth every month!

In your portal, a new student will discover a dynamic library of learning resources to assist in reaching your musical goals. Everything from advanced infographics revealing the power & strength of music theory to at-home, fun assignments to read sheet music or learn new chords/scales. There will be enough online support and workbooks to allow a student to reinforce the skills and knowledge from each lesson.

Absolutely! AGS excels in song covers as our Chief Instructor covers over 1,000 songs. We will be providing access to a Student Setlist with over 250 song charts with full lyrics. In the Portal's "Repertoire" section you will discover an entire world of song cover possibilities of every musical genre.

We know everyone lives on the run so the AGS Portal is built to move with you. Our student portal is 100% smartphone and tablet compatible. And we will show you how to set the portal up as a web app on your smartphone for one-click access. We want learning at AGS to be fun, convenient, and musical!

Yes and forever. Even if you only take one lesson with us, your Student Portal login will remain active and you will be able to benefit from our dynamic library of song cover sheets and vast learning resources. We want our students to grow musically every day for the rest of their lives. And, should you decide to restart your learning curriculum at AGS, you can simply login and book a new lesson or package.

AGS's founder Chayton Alo has been training to become a luthier over the last year and is fully-qualified to handle most new guitar setups. We also will work on your existing guitar and perform intonation adjustments via truss rod and/or saddle height, deep cleaning and conditioning the fretboard, and other setup-related operations. One of the most critical success elements in learning guitar is playing the right guitar that has superb intonation, that is, the ability to hold & sustain proper string tuning at the exact pitch.
